WHAT COMPANIES HERE FACE
The decisions in front of Santa Barbara management teams.
Very high housing costs and limited buildable land on the south coast make hiring and expansion the main constraints, pushing some operations to Santa Maria or out of the county. Farms in the Santa Maria Valley depend on seasonal labour and face rising compliance costs. Suppliers to launch activity at Vandenberg must meet aerospace quality and security requirements to win work.
